Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is a medical condition that affects about 10 million women all around the world. Irregular periods– Women with PCOS has missing or irregular periods. This imbalance can be caused due to the higher level of androgen or insulin production which can disrupt the normal flow of ovulation and menstrual cycle. An irregular menstrual cycle can be defined as having eight or less than eight menstrual cycles per year or having menstrual in more than 35 days, whereas the normal menstrual cycle is between 28-35 days.

Acne– As mentioned earlier, PCOS can lead to enhanced production of androgen which can lead to increased size of oil glands. These oil glands, in return, produce excessive oil which causes acne and breakouts. Though acne is common in adolescence, but women with PCOS experience more severe form of acne.

Coping with hormonal, emotional and psychological changes during PCOS van be nerve-wracking. Increased weight, acne, fatigue, lack of sleep, anxiety, and disorder can affect your health and lifestyle and consequently lower your self-esteem.
